Sara Freitas

Estimating Coordinator

Sara started at SAC in March of 2020. She joined our team with over a decade of experience in the construction industry in her back pocket. When asked to describe her interview, “I was driving! I saw the call from Kelly, the Director of Estimating, and immediately pulled over to do a phone interview.” Sara is our Estimating Coordinator. She was recently a winner of our quarterly Values Bucks for POSITIVITY, with good reason. If you have a chance to speak to Sara, you will be blessed by her joyful laughter and positive personality. She has been a great addition to the estimating department and helps keep them in-line.

When describing SAC’s leadership style, Sara said, “Very organized, like a well-oiled machine. They’re understanding when it comes to work and home life balance. They’re incredibly organized, which is extremely beneficial in having a successful team, company, and stress-free environment.”

Sara lives in Nevada and works remotely from her home. Some of her favorite hobbies include, rockhounding, exploring Nevada’s ghost towns, gardening, bird watching, crafting, 3D printing, and repurposing otherwise disposable items.

Julie Gates

Accounting Manager

Julie started in March of 2021 as our Accounts Payable Coordinator. Before starting at SAC, Julie worked as a bookkeeper at a child-care facility. When asked to describe her interview, “My interview was over the phone. I’d never done a phone interview before, but I felt like it was one of the best interviews I’ve ever had. I knew instantly that I wanted an offer!”

“I love the people I work with,” Julie describes her favorite parts about her role, “I have the whole company as a team. Everyone is always working to support you and make you feel appreciated. I love the leadership at SAC, as well. Whether you’re a coordinator, manager, or the CEO, everyone is equal. It’s like no other company I’ve worked at before.”

When asked what makes SAC a great place to work, Julie said, “SAC is a place that makes you feel important. I feel appreciated every day, and I haven’t met one person that comes to work with a bad attitude which makes work feel less like work.” Julie has been an awesome positive addition to our team and we’re so lucky to have her.

Some of Julie’s goals are to continue to provide for her family, learn, and grow at SAC. “There are always new things to learn!” During her time off Julie enjoys spending time doing her hobbies such as fly fishing and running 5k’s.

Manny Romero

Senior Field Specialist

Manny Romero joined SAC 10 years ago with a well-established career in the Construction Industry. He began in our West Coast Branch as Operations Manager and has since held roles in our Compliance and Project Management Departments. He is currently SAC’s Senior Field Specialist, based out of our Utah office.

SAC’s Field Services Team supports clients through on-site meetings, ensuring the proper installation of our products, assisting with any material needs, and providing the opportunity for clients to share feedback on our overall performance. “In our line of work, most companies never send someone out to the project unless there is a problem,” he shares, “SAC leads the pack by demonstrating real concern for our clients. We give them the confidence to know that SAC will be there for them throughout the current project and beyond.”

Manny is known throughout SAC for his outgoing personality and ability to spark up a conversation with anybody. And in a world of evolving virtual communication, he knows our clients still appreciate the onsite, face-to-face interaction our Field Services Team does best. “It makes me proud to be on the front lines, representing SAC, supporting our growth through positive relationships with clients….I truly love what I do!”

Manny has witnessed tremendous change at SAC since his start in 2011. He came on board to a small group of 10, and today, SAC has expanded to nearly 200 employees. “Over the years the culture has definitely evolved, and for a large group that we are now, there is a real sense of family and comradery.” Manny looks forward to an even greater future at SAC, as we expand our teams, technologies, and facilities. “In my opinion, this culture will only continue to grow.”

Chase Gibb

Continuous Improvement Specialist

“SAC has a culture that inspires creativity and positivity,” says Chase Gibb, IT Coordinator on our tech support team. Chase sees the challenges of the day to day as opportunities for growth as an individual, a team member, and as a company. He believes this perspective comes from surrounding himself with positive team members, whose actions and attitudes are emulated throughout the company.

Chase began in our Fabrication Department in 2012, and has since held roles in detailing, quality control, packaging and kitting. His passion for process improvement via technology was recognized early in his career at SAC Incorporated, and his role has evolved as a result. Chase notes, “Growth on a personal level is highly encouraged, and supported with programs to further your own education.”

On our IT support team, Chase’s enthusiasm for learning and team-oriented approach make him an asset. His focus is to create digital workflows, enabling technology to do more work for us. He collaborates with all departments to find ways to better utilize our existing software and hardware, and implement new digital resources to improve our daily work.

Mason Miller

Small Bore Manager

Mason’s SAC career began in 2014, when he came onboard as a member of our Receiving Department. He has since moved to our Packaging Department, where he manages SAC’s small bore team.

Mason takes pride in his team’s responsibility to package and deliver our product to clients on time. Since stepping into a leadership role, he quickly adopted a big-picture mentality with a cross-departmental, collaborative approach to work. Mason believes learning from team members who have direct contact with our clients, like those in our Construction Services Department, is an important piece to his team’s performance. Through better understanding customer’s needs and the results of our site visits, his team is implementing new strategies for greater efficiencies, and “learning what we can do to make it flow better, and do more” he shares.

Mason describes SAC’s culture as one that welcomes idea sharing, prioritizes learning, and cares for team members and clients alike. He is an eager contributor to our mission, to create value for our clients, our partners and ourselves; alongside his role in small bore, Mason participates in SAC’s Objectives and Key Results Program, where members assist all departments with goal setting. He’s motivated to drive companywide engagement in OKRs, and help others reach their full potential at SAC. When asked what he loves most about his role, he says, “I’m a part of a great team!”

Outside the office, Mason is perfecting his archery skills, and enjoys hunting, camping, and spending time with family and friends.

John Smith

Lead Plasma Technician

“We’re always working towards a better future,” John says, when asked about SAC’s culture. John originally connected with members of SAC through his local church, and he applied for a role in Fabrication to supplement his former job during the off-season. He began training with our Fabrication Department on the plasma table, and two years later, his role has since evolved into the Fabrication Coordinator.

John attributes his lasting role to the care our team members have for one another. “When I first started, I didn’t have a quarter of the responsibility that I do now,” he shares, “the company wants to improve things for employees, make sure our equipment is the absolute best – it’s the little details, we’re always trying to improve on ourselves, and as a company.”

At SAC, John takes pride in his efforts to perfect his duties – making them faster, more efficient, and of higher quality. He’s created new systems for our plasma table, ways of keeping track of materials, and organizing pieces for a smoother workflow. When asked what he loves most about his role, he says, “All of the different aspects! I’m always working towards something – it’s a nice balance.”

Outside of SAC, John is a youth leader with his church who enjoys reading, writing, and spending time with his family.

Hannah Griffin

Project Management Coordinator

Hannah joined SAC in early 2020 and works closely with our Project Managers on new project setups, change orders, shipment notifications and more. “I really enjoy seeing our projects at almost every stage – from initial setup to closeout,” she shares, “and I love how different every day is!”

Hannah shines for her friendly personality, attention to detail and ability to communicate clearly on multiple platforms – be it logging notes in our CRM software, tracking change orders on the cloud, or standardizing our new project setups. Hannah appreciates our team’s efforts to improve our systems and processes throughout SAC, and she hopes to expand upon her skills by learning how to set up releases for our Project Managers, and take advantage of SAC’s efforts for cross-departmental collaboration as well. “I feel like I’m really able to bring my strengths of organization and communication to this role…. knowing more about what everyone else does will help me communicate better with them!” she notes.

When asked about the ethos of SAC, Hannah shares, “SAC’s culture is one that really cares about their employees and wants to help them learn and grow in ways that are both challenging and satisfying to them. What makes SAC such a great place to work is that we all work together to do the best we can every day, improve so we can do better today than yesterday, teach each other new skills, and have fun along the way!”

Two of Hannah’s personal goals are to be trilingual (she is learning French and Japanese), and to bench press her body weight. She has many hobbies outside the office, such as cooking, reading, gaming, weightlifting, and being outdoors with her husband and rescue pup.

Erick Pryor

VDC Manager

When Erick started with SAC in 2012, he stood out for his “all hands on deck” mentality. He began as a Drafter on our Engineering Team, but maintained a close relationship with our Fabrication Department, where he assisted our Packaging, Kitting and Shipping Teams, lending a hand whenever needed.

Erick gained a valuable learning experience through working with our Engineering Department. After five years in the role he transitioned to fabrication drafting, where he created drawings to ensure the accurate production and installation of our products. Today Erick is the CAD Manager on our Virtual Design and Construction Team.

Erick has contributed to many of the processes that are used throughout SAC. In his early days, he assisted in developing our kitting and tagging procedures, which are used to organize and find material on site. More recently, he works closely with our Engineering and BIM Team, developing CAD standards and reference details, with a goal of streamlining the CAD process. When asked what he loves most about his role, he replied, “As a Manager, I enjoy helping and supporting my team, and being a part of the creation of the VDC group.”

Erick uses a variety of software programs to facilitate his work. He uses programs like AutoCAD, Advanced Steel, Plant 3D, Revit, and Navis Works on a regular basis, and enjoys the technicalities they all offer. “I enjoy working with these programs,” he shares, “they all have a place in the process and are all useful to complete a project.” Erick utilizes SAC’s continued education resources to remain ahead of the curve, and when asked what keeps his skills current, he shares, “The biggest thing is putting the programs to use, continued education, and training on changes being made to each program.”

As one of SAC’s earliest employees, we asked Erick – What makes SAC such a great place to work? He replied, “SAC is a great place to work because of the openness of the company, no matter who you are or what question you have, chances are there is someone with an answer. This next part may sound cliché, but to me, SAC is one giant family. We all care and look out for each other.”

Josh Ransco

Project Manager

Josh started at SAC in 2019 as a Project Coordinator and has since moved to the role of Project Manager. He describes his favorite part of his job as, “I love the interaction with everyone at the company as well as our clients. Every day is something new!”

When asked “What makes SAC a great place to work?” Josh replied, “It’s because SAC supports every employee; beyond any other company I’ve worked for. I truly enjoy going to work, and I’m proud of what we do.” Josh describes SAC’s leadership style as transparent, trusting, supportive and the senior leaders lead by example. Josh’s favorite thing about SAC and the leadership style. Some of Josh’s professional goals is to grow in his role as Project Manager and expand his knowledge of the construction industry.

In his personal life, Josh enjoys golfing, biking (on both bicycles and motorcycles) and glamping.
